Well, even brand-new cars end up in the pit box sometimes. This BMW M4 deslots very quickly ... it's almost impossible to keep it on the track. A quick inspection shows the guide is turning with difficulty. |

The car was opened because I wanted to check if the wiring could move freely, and it could. So that's not the problem. But then I noticed the guide wasn't sitting straight, and as soon as I grabbed it, it came loose. |

It turns out to be cracked at the clip section. This is likely the problem. When it slips out of the holder, it turns stiffly which causes it to deslot. |

As usual with Carrera cars there's a spare part in the car's box. In this photo you can clearly see what's wrong, and how it's supposed to be. |

With a convincing click, the new guide is in place under the car. |

Since I already had the car open, I went ahead and trued the rear tires. |
|
|
Now the BMW M4 is fully ready for the track again. |
